A Map of The Universe
This piece is actually a lot bigger than it looks here, the people are quite some way from it. I made this for the Wirksworth Arts festival in 1998,it is about the impact of events whose influence persists beyond their actual occurrence. The past is fixed and aged, the edge of the present progresses clean, unsullied and unformed, it is constantly hopeful and infinitely renewed. After the one showing it was dismantled and was never shown again -finding the right site with a 5m wall was too difficult.
