Moonrise at Sea
I've recently started experimenting with painting onto the surface some pieces. I've been concentrating mainly on just enhancing tonality using a dark blue/black and layers of dilute white. This was one of the first attempts. I paint onto the lacquered surface and then lacquer again over the paint. The paint behaves very differently on this surface than on canvas or paper.
JPEG imaging makes the black look more patchy than it really is - but there you go, thats jpegs for you.
I was thinking of small boats' lights at sea, shoals of nighttime fish, bioluminescence and the moon shining.
