I was thinking of sets of choices that we are forced to make in life, and the opportunity costs of those choices; the things we choose to make reality leave behind a series of unmanifested options, like sterile eggs of possibility. Sometimes these eggs can haunt as regrets, or "I wish", or just as "what if"s. Sometimes these unactualised events have as big an impact as the reality of our actual choices.
