Anatomy of a Broken Moon
After finishing the "Ghosts" project for the Ropewalk Gallery I used the remaining pieces to make the framework for this piece , and used the same technique of twisting 6mm steel bar around the frame to create a more solid form. I was thinking of a sphere torn in half; a falling star, a comet consuming itself, asteroid collisions, cratered surfaces; the myth of Saturn eating his children, like in Goya's painting.
